Stirling and Trossachs is probably the only Scout District in the UK that has two cities within its boundaries! It covers Stirling, Dunblane, and the surrounding areas as far north as Tyndrum. Scouting is active in the area, but we are always delighted to welcome more Leaders, as this enables us to offer Scouting to more young people.
There are 10 Scout Groups in Stirling and Trossachs, and a District Explorer Scout Unit. Scouting focuses on the needs of Young People, and aims through a structured programme of activities to enable them to become valued members of society. And we do this within a framework that is fun, challenging, strenuous and enjoyable.
The youngest Section is Beaver Scouts for those aged 6 - 8 years of age; then we have Cub Scouts for 8 - 10 year olds; and then Scouts for 10 - 14 year olds. All these Sections are run within Scout Groups that are located throughout the District of Stirling and Trossachs. After Scouts, the young person progresses to Explorer Scouts for those aged 14 - 18 years. There is also the County Scout Network for 18 - 25 year olds. Since January 1st 2007 all sections in Scouting are co-educational.
